Telematics infrastructure
From connector to TI-Gateway.
Access to the TI is moving from the practice into the data centre, and on to an architecture based on verified identities instead of hardware. Here you can see what is changing and where our software fits in.
- 01
On-site connector
Each facility operates its own hardware: connector, card terminal, SMC-B and eHBA. The connector establishes the VPN tunnel into the TI and has to be maintained on site.
- 02
TI-Gateway
An approved provider operates a high-speed connector in the data centre. The practice dials in via VPN, and updates are handled centrally. The institution's identity can be held as an HSM-B in the data centre instead of an SMC-B card in the terminal.
- 03
TI 2.0
Zero Trust architecture: access no longer necessarily depends on the connector but on verified digital identities. gematik is introducing the building blocks step by step.
What is coming up
Three changes that affect every facility.
Which steps your organisation needs and when depends on your equipment and your providers. Binding dates are published by gematik.
gematik Fachportal ↗- RSA → ECC
New cryptography in the TI
gematik is moving the TI from RSA to elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and is gradually switching off the RSA infrastructure. Cards, connectors and connected systems must support ECC.
- TI-Gateway
Access as a service
Approved TI-Gateway offerings are available for practices, pharmacies, rehabilitation and care facilities. In the long term, the TI-Gateway is set to replace the hardware-based connection.
- Identities
Digital identities become central
In TI 2.0, professionals and insured persons identify themselves digitally, for example by smartphone. Identity providers, signatures and credentials thus move to the centre of the architecture.
Our software for the journey
Building blocks for the new TI.
IDatik
Identity provider for the TI
Authentication and authorisation for participants in the telematics infrastructure, with eHBA, SMC-B and role-based access control. A building block for identity-based access in TI 2.0.
Ready for gematik certification
FHIR Link
FHIR gateway
FHIR R4 gateway for exchanging health data between hospital, practice and platform, including across TI services.
Available
